ROBOTIC PACKAGING STATION

The primary purpose of the system is the fully automated picking of plastic parts from a conveyor system and their placement into containers for final shipment.

In the preceding production step, the parts are removed from the injection molding machine by a linear robot and subsequently placed onto a conveyor belt. The conveyor then transports the parts to the working area of the packaging station equipped with a six-axis Stäubli TX2-200L robot.

To ensure precise handling, the workstation is equipped with a vision system that continuously determines the 3D position of individual parts on the conveyor and provides the corresponding coordinates to the robot. The robot then picks the parts and places them into containers according to a predefined packing pattern.

The solution also includes the automated handling of empty and full containers, minimizing the need for operator intervention and ensuring uninterrupted production flow. The system is designed for the flexible processing of approximately ten different product variants, enabling quick changeovers between production batches and a high level of adaptability to customer requirements.
