Fully automated workplace for laser marking of products

We supplied the customer with a fully automated line for laser description of a wide portfolio of products with different shape.

Using camera-guided six-axis robots, the workplace is able to select parts from KLT boxes, ensure their transfer under the laser heads and then re-insert the parts back into KLT boxes. The device is connected to the customer's MES.  The device uses the read barcodes on the box to identify the order in terms of type and quantity, configure (i.e read the necessary recipe and deploy a suitable robotic gripper) and check back whether the data from MES are consistent with physical condition on the line. These operations take place both at the input and at the output of the device.

In addition to cameras for robotic removal and loading of parts, the device includes a camera system for detecting the position of parts under the laser in order to set offsets for accurate burning of text and graphic masks on products. The device also verifies the quality of the transmitted data matrix codes.
